MAYROONG P5 milyong pabuya ang Department of Justice (DOJ) para sa makapagbibigay ng impormasyon sa mga taong nasa likod sa pagpatay kay Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.

Inutusan din ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla ang mga tauhan ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na imbestigahan ang insidente.

“The department, together with all the other law enforcement agencies, will not rest until justice is met. The killers as well as the mastermind/s will be uncovered and will be held accountable for the incident,” sabi ni Remulla.

“The violent and senseless manner by which the perpetrators carried out their plan cannot and will not be tolerated. Not only did they kill their target, but they killed innocent civilians along the way. There is absolutely no room for such evil doings in this country,” dagdag pa ni kalihim.

Sa paunang ulat, nakikipag-usap si Degamo sa mga benepisyaryo ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) sa tapat ng kanyang bahay ng dumating ang mga lalaking nakaumiporme ng sundalo.

Nang makapuwesto ay nagpaputok na umano ng baril ang mga suspek. Bukod kay Degamo tinamaan sa pamamaril ang ilang tao sa lugar.
