HINIMOK ng dalawang lider ng quad committee ng Kamara de Representantes sina dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at Senador Bong Go at Bato Dela Rosa na dumalo sa imbestigasyon kaugnay ng iligal na operasyon ng mga Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO), bentahan ng iligal na droga, at extrajudicial killings upang masagot ang mga alegasyon laban sa kanila.

“It has come to public attention that serious allegations have been made against former President Rodrigo Duterte and Sens. Bong Go and Bato Dela Rosa in the Quad Comm probe, and given the gravity of these accusations, we hope they attend the hearings to address these claims directly,” ani Sta. Rosa, Laguna Rep. Dan Fernandez, chairman ng House committee on public order and safety.

Sa pagdinig noong Agosto 22, iniugnay ng mga convicted na sina Leopoldo Tan Jr. at Fernando “Andy” Magdadaro si Duterte sa pagpatay sa tatlong Chinese drug lord na nakakulong sa Davao Prison and Penal Farm sa Davao del Norte noong 2016.

Sa pagdinig naman noong Agosto 28, isiniwalat ni PLt. Col. Jovie Espenido ang umano’y reward system ng administrasyong Duterte na nagresulta sa pagpatay ng maraming indibidwal at iniugnay dito sina Go at Dela Rosa.

Sinabi ni Fernandez na ang mga naging pahayag ni Espenido ay nagpapangit sa imahe ng war on drugs ng administrasyong Duterte.

“Espenido, a key figure in the drug war, has implicated Sen. Bong Go in this scheme, claiming that funds were funneled downwards from his level. Similarly, Sen. Bato, who led the Philippine National Police during the early years of the drug war, has been accused of instructing police officers to neutralize drug suspects, which has been interpreted as an order to kill. May naging issue rin si Col. Espenido na may prinotektahan si Sen. Bato na kailangang maliwanagan,” sabi ni Fernandez.

“Given these severe allegations, we hope former President Duterte, Go and Dela Rosa will appear before the quad committee. Their attendance would provide them a crucial platform to defend themselves and clarify their roles in the previous administration’s anti-drug policies,” dagdag pa nito.

Ayon naman kay Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante, chairman ng House committee on human rights, dapat gamitin nina Duterte, Go at Dela Rosa ang pagkakataon na ibinibigay ng quad committee upang masagot ang mga alegasyon laban sa kanila at mailahad sa publiko ang kanilang panig sa gitna ng mga alegasyon.

“The testimonies heard so far have led to disturbing revelations, suggesting that the Philippines may have operated as a ‘narco-state’ during Duterte’s presidency, with high-ranking officials involved in the drug trade,” ani Abante.

“These claims, if left unchallenged, could undermine public confidence in the integrity of the country’s leadership and its institutions. Therefore, allowing Duterte, Go and Dela Rosa to address these accusations is critical in maintaining transparency and accountability in governance,” dagdag pa ni Abante.
