INATASAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang lahat ng ahensya ng gobyerno na magtipid ng tubig bilang bahagi ng paghahanda sa El Niño phenomenon.

Sa Memorandum Circular No. 22 na ipinalabas ng Malacañang at pirmado ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, inatasan ng Pangulo ang Water Resource Management Office (WRMO) na pangunahan ang pagtitipid ng tubig.

Sinabi sa Circular na dapat bawasan ng lahat ng ahensya ng 10 porsyento ang kanilang kinokonsumong tubig.

Pinagsusumite rin ng Pangulo ang Local Water Utilities Administration, National Water Resources Board, at Metropolitan Water and Sewerage System gayundin ang mga pribadong water service providers (WSP) na magsumite sa WRMO ng kanilang buwanang supply-demand projection.

“National government-run WSPs are hereby directed, and local government-run WSPs are hereby encouraged, to immediately complete their projects to reduce non-revenue water and upgrade their distribution pipes. Local government units are encouraged to process the requests of WSPs for waterworks within a reasonable period of time,” sabi ng Pangulo.

Ang WRMO ay inatasan din ng Pangulo upang ginawa ng mga estratehiya para sa pagtitipid ng tubig.
