BINIGYANG PUGAG ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez nitong Lunes ang mga karaniwang Pilipino, kabilang ang mga guro, mangingisda, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), gymnast champeon na si Carlos Yulo, at mahuhusay na boksingero na sina Alcayde Petecio at Aira Cordero Villegas, gayundin ang iba pang miyembro ng delegasyon ng Pilipinas sa katatapos na 2024 Paris Summer Olympics sa France para sa kanilang ipinakitang kabayanihan para sa bansa.

Sa mensahe ni Speaker Romualdez sa pagdiriwang ng National Heroes Day, kasabay ng paggunita ng bansa sa “mga magigiting na kalalakihan at kababaihan na nagtatag ng pundasyon ng kalayaan at soberanya ng ating bansa… kilalanin din natin ang di-mabilang na mga bayani ng araw-araw sa ating paligid – mga karaniwang Pilipino na tahimik na nag-aambag ng di-pangkaraniwang kontribusyon sa ating bansa at sa buong mundo.”

“These modern-day heroes contribute to the betterment of our nation in their own unique ways. They remind us that heroism is not limited to grand gestures or acts of bravery in the face of danger. It is found in the quiet yet powerful acts of service that uplift others and contribute to the greater good,” ayon sa pinuno ng Kamara.

“Whether it’s the fishermen of Masinloc protecting our marine resources or the teachers in remote areas ensuring that no child is left behind, OFWs who represent the spirit of hard work, perseverance, and sacrifices for national development, and the men and women of the Philippine Coast Guard and other law enforcers who defend the country’s territorial integrity in the West Philippine Sea, these modern-day heroes exemplify the true essence of nation-building,” ayon pa kay Romualdez.

Partikular na binanggit ni Speaker Romualdez ang tagumpay na nakamit ni Yulo, na nakasungkit ng dalawang gintong medalya, at mga bronze medalists na sina Petecio at ang kaniyang kababayan na si Villegas, at sa lahat ng miyembro ng delegasyon ng Pilipinas sa katatapos na Olympics.

“Their victories on the global stage demonstrate how perseverance and dedication can lead to extraordinary accomplishments. They too are modern heroes, representing our nation with honor and inspiring a new generation of athletes to pursue their dreams,” sabi ni Speaker Romualdez.

Ayon kay Speaker Romualdez ang pakikiisa ng mga Pilipino para sa pagpapatag ng bansa ay maituturing ng kabayanihan.

“By doing their part in their communities and families, they are shaping the future of our country. Every time a citizen upholds the law, participates in community activities, or simply cares for their family, they are strengthening the integrity of our nation,” saad pa niya.

Hinimok ng lider ng Kamara ang bawat mamamayang Pilipino na “humugot ng inspirasyon sa buhay ng mga makabagong bayani na ito.”

Paalala pa nito, ang kabayanihan “ay hindi palaging nangangailangan ng mga dakilang gawain—madalas, ito ay nasa mga maliliit, pang-araw-araw na akto ng kabutihan, malasakit, at paglilingkod sa kapwa.”

“Let us continue to work together to be everyday heroes in our own right, building a nation our forebears would be proud of – a nation where every Filipino has the opportunity to achieve their dreams, and where every act of goodness contributes to a brighter future for all,” ayon pa sa kaniya.

“In unity and service, we find our strength. Let us celebrate the heroes of our past, our present, and those who will continue to rise in the future,” dagdag pa ni Speaker Romualdez.
