SA dami umano ng lumabas na ebidensya sa isinagawang pagdinig sa Kamara de Representantes kaugnay ng maling paggamit ng pondo, at kanyang mga naging pahayag, ang paghahain ng impeachment case laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte ang logical na mangyari.

Binigyang-diin nina Deputy Majority Leader Lorenz Defensor ng Iloilo, Assistant Majority Leader Zia Alonto Adiong, at 1-RIDER Party-List Rep. Rodge Gutierrez na ang mga natuklasan mula sa iba’t ibang pagdinig ng mga komite ng Kamara, partikular na ang isinagawa ng Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability, ay nagresulta sa paghahain ng impeachment case laban sa Ikalawang Pangulo.

“Personally po no, I can’t speak for everyone else but I believe I mentioned that it’s a long time coming. We all had our own personal opinions that came out of for example in Quad Comm and the Good Governance Committees. But personally as an active member of those committees I feel that this is culmination and vindication of the findings that we have had there,” ani Gutierrez.

Sumang-ayon dito si Adiong, “I guess this is a logical conclusion of what we have been discussed during those previous committee hearings. That the end result would be this, the actual filing of the impeachment complaint.”

Saklaw ng impeachment complaint ang ilang paratang laban kay VP Duterte, kabilang ang isang pampublikong banta na ginawa niya laban kay Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Sa isang press conference noong Nobyembre, sinabi ni Duterte na kumuha siya ng isang mamamatay-tao upang puntiryahin si Pangulong Marcos, ang asawa nitong si Liza, at si Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez sakaling siya ay mapaslang. Malawakang naiulat ang pahayag na ito at naging sentro ng impeachment proceedings.

Binigyang-diin ni Defensor ang bigat ng mga ginawa ni Duterte.

“This is also a logical conclusion of the actuations of the Vice President herself. Nobody told her to go live on video and say that she has contracted somebody to kill the President, the wife of the President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives,” ani Defensor.

“That is a direct threat to the life of the Chief Executive, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces as well as the House of Representatives, the Speaker of the House of Representatives,” dagdag niya.

Binigyang-diin ni Defensor ang implikasyon nito sa Konstitusyon, at sinabing, “So clearly as a Vice President you do not do that to the President if you are to succeed if that happens. This is clearly a betrayal of public trust and a high crime as considered by the framers of the Constitution.”

“Mabigat po ito. This is a grave and serious offense to the Constitution,” ani Defensor.

Ang Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability ay aktibong iniimbestigahan ang iba’t ibang paratang laban kay VP Duterte, kabilang ang umano’y maling paggamit ng confidential funds noong siya ay Secretary of Education. Ang mga imbestigasyong ito ang naging batayan ng impeachment complaint.
