TINUKURAN ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ang “comprehensive, powerful and uplifting” na State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., lalo na sa pagtindig nito sa isyu ng West Philippine Sea (WPS), pag-ban sa Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGO), at pagpapatupad ng bloodless war on drugs.

“The President’s declaration that the WPS is rightfully ours is a powerful assertion of our national sovereignty,” ani Speaker Romualdez, matapos iginiit ng Pangulo na ang WPS ay hindi kathang-isip lamang at totoo na Pilipinas ang may-ari nito.

Pinuri rin ni Speaker Romualdez ang pasasalamat ng Pangulo sa militar, Coast Guard at mga mangingisda na mayroong mahalagang papel sa paglaban sa teritoryo ng bansa at pagtataguyod ng integridad ng Pilipinas.

Ang pagbibigay diin ng Pangulo sa pagtahak sa diplomatikong pamamaraan para resolbahin ang hindi pagkakaunawaan ay patotoo sa hangarin ng bansa sa isang payapa at naaayon sa batas na pagprotekta ng interes ng mga Pilipino.

“The message that the Philippines cannot yield or waver in its stance is crucial for maintaining our national pride and asserting our rightful claims,” dagdag niya.

Kinilala din ni Speaker Romualdez ang desisyon ng Pangulo na tuluyang ipahinto ang operasyon ng lahat ng POGO at ang kanyang atas sa Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) na isakatuparan ito hanggang pagtatapos ng taon.

“This bold move underscores the President’s commitment to lawful economic practices,” sabi ng Speaker.

Ipinakita rin aniya ng Pangulo ang kaniyang malasakit nang ipag-utos nito sa Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) na tulungan ang mga POGO worker na mawawalan ng trabaho.

Pinuri rin niya ang pagtutok ng Punong Ehekutibo sa bloodless war laban sa iligal na droga.

“The President’s stance that extermination is not a policy of this government, along with the significant reduction of drug-affected villages, the interception of billions of pesos worth of illegal drugs, and the high conviction rate of drug offenders, are commendable achievements. This approach ensures community safety while upholding human rights,” giit ni Speaker Romualdez.

Binigyang-diin din ni Speaker Romualdez ang mga nagawa ng Pangulo, partikular na sa pagpapalakas ng ekonomiya.

“President Marcos’ leadership has resulted in significant economic improvements, including job creation, infrastructure development, and advancements in digital infrastructure,” wika ng Speaker.

“His administration’s efforts in agriculture, disaster risk management, and health reforms have been instrumental in uplifting the lives of many Filipinos,” dagdag niya.

Pinuri ni Speaker Romualdez ang komprehensibong SONA na sumasaklaw sa lahat ng kritikal na aspeto ng pambansang kaunlaran.

“The President addressed key areas such as economic and health reforms, job creation, digital infrastructure, peace and order, anti-corruption measures, and the power crisis. This holistic approach is essential for the sustainable progress of our nation,” diin niya.

Tiniyak din ni Speaker Romualdez ang buong suporta ng mas malaking Kapulungan sa pagsasabatas ng mga kinakailangang lehislasyon para maisakatuparan ang hangarin ng presidente.

“We stand ready to work with the administration to pass laws that will bring these plans to fruition. The House is committed to supporting the President’s goals of national sovereignty, economic reform, and public safety,” sabi niya.

Panawagan naman ng House Speaker sa lahat ng Pilipino na magkaisa at ibigay ang suporta sa liderato ng pangulo.

“Together, we can achieve the prosperous and progressive Philippines we all aspire for. Let us support President Marcos’ leadership and work towards a brighter future for our nation,” paghimok pa ni Romualdez.
