PINURI ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ang nakamit ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. para sa mga Pilipino at sa bansa sa makasaysayang trilateral meeting nito kasama sina US President Joe Biden at Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

“On behalf of the entire House of Representatives, I extend my warmest congratulations to President Jr. for his remarkable achievement in securing a monumental diplomatic victory through the recent historic trilateral meeting with President Biden and Prime Minister Kishida,” ani Romualdez.

Sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez na ang resulta ng trilateral meeting ay mahalaga para sa mga Pilipino, sa ekonomiya, at sa interes ng bansa partikular sa usapin ng West Philippine Sea (WPS).

“The collaboration and dialogue fostered during this meeting pave the way for enhanced cooperation in addressing regional challenges, particularly in promoting maritime security, safeguarding our territorial integrity and improving the lives of the Filipino people,” said Romualdez.

“This historic meeting signifies a strong and united commitment of the three nations to upholding the principles of international law and ensuring the freedom of navigation and overflight in the region which are vital in ensuring peace, stability and prosperity,” dagdag pa nito.

Sinabi ni Romualdez na batay sa Joint Vision Statement ng tatlong lider ay nangako ang mga ito ng kanilang pakiki-isa at pagsuporta sa pagpapanatili ng rules-based international order sa South China Sea sa gitna ng pagiging agresibo ng China.

“We underscore our nations’ unwavering commitment to freedom of navigation and overflight, and the importance of respecting the sovereign rights of states within their exclusive economic zones consistent with international law, as reflected in the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS),” sabi sa Joint Vision Statement.

Nagpahayag ng seryosong pagkabahala ang tatlong lider sa mga mapanganib na hakbang na ginagawa ng China at ang militarisasyon nito sa mga no-reclaimed na lugar sa South China Sea.

“We steadfastly oppose the dangerous and coercive use of Coast Guard and maritime militia vessels in the South China Sea, as well as efforts to disrupt other countries’ offshore resource exploitation. We reiterate serious concern over the PRC’s repeated obstruction of Philippine vessels’ exercise of high seas freedom of navigation and the disruption of supply lines to Second Thomas Shoal, which constitute dangerous and destabilizing conduct,” sabi sa pahayag.

Ayon kay Romualdez nangako ang Amerika at Japan ng patuloy na suporta sa modernisasyon ng depensa ng Pilipinas at ang pagpapataas ng kakayanan ng Coast Guard. Nangako rin ang dalawang bansa na ipagpapatuloy ang pagsasagawa ng mga naval training at exercises kasama ang iba pang bansa na nais makilahok.

Sumang-ayon din ang tatlong lider na magkaroon ng kooperasyon sa iba’t ibang larangan gaya ng sustainable critical infrastructure, semiconductor supply chain resilience, digital transformation, at energy security sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng renewable energy.

Ayon kay Speaker Romualdez tunay na kapuri-puri ang ipinakitang pamumuno at dedikasyon ni Pangulong Marcos sa pagsulong ng interes ng mga Pilipino at ng bansa sa pandaigdigang entablado.

“As Speaker of the House of Representatives, I reaffirm our unwavering support for the President’s efforts to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region,” sabi nito.

Ang mga pangunahing benepisyo na makukuha umano ng Pilipinas sa trilateral meeting ay kinabibilangan ng:

• Paglulungsad ng Luzon Economic Corridor, kung saan isang railway link ang mag-uugnay sa Subic Bay, Clark, Manila, at Batangas upang mapabilis ang paglago ng ekonomiya sa lugar. Kasama rin dito ang modernisasyon ng mga pantalan, paggamit ng malinis na enerhiya at semiconductor supply chains, agribusiness, at civilian port upgrades sa Subic Bay.

• Nangako ang US at Japan na magbibigay ng hindi bababa sa $8 milyon para sa Open Radio Access Network (RAN) field trials sa Asia Open RAN Academy na nakabase sa Maynila, na naglalayong maging bukas, ligtas, maaasan at magkaroon ng interoperability ang mga magkakaibang telecommunication company para sa mas magandang information communications technology ecosystem ng bansa.

• Sa pamamagitan ng CHIPS at Science Act’s International Technology Security and Innovation Fund, palalakasin ng Amerika ang semiconductor workforce ng Pilipinas.

• Pagpapalawig ng partnership para sa mas ligtas at maaasahang paggamit ng nuclear energy sa bansa.

• Pagpapalawig ng trilateral cooperation para sa paggamit ng clean energy technology, kasama na ang mga renewable energy project gaya ng solar at wind power at matulungan ang Pilipinas sa energy transition.

Nakipagpulong din si Pangulong Marcos sa mga opisyal ng Ultra Safe Nuclear Corporation (USNC) at Google, gayundin sa mga pangunahing US business leaders at mga opisyal ng Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Ang mga pakikipagpulong na ito, ayon kay Speaker Romualdez ay naglalayong hikayatin ang mga negosyante na mamuhunan sa bansa.

Ayon kay Philippine Ambassador to the US, Jose Manuel “Babe” Romualdez hindi bababa sa $100 bilyong pamumuhunan ang inaasahang makukuha ng Pilipinas mula sa trilateral meeting sa susunod na lima hanggang 10 taon.

“As we navigate the current challenges posed by the global pandemic and work towards full economic recovery, such partnerships are instrumental in driving sustainable growth, fostering innovation, and creating employment opportunities for our people,” wika pa ni Speaker Romualdez.

Sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez na ang tagumpay ni Pangulong Marcos ay nagsisilbing testament ng tumataas na pagkilala at lumalawak na impluwensya ng Pilipinas sa international community.

“Moving forward, let us continue to support President Marcos, Jr. and work hand in hand towards a future of peace, progress, and prosperity for all Filipinos,” dagdag pa ng lider ng Kamara na mayroong mahigit 300 miyembro.
