KUMPIYANSA si Batangas Vice Gov. Mark Leviste sa kakayanan ni Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte na pagandahin ang health care system ng bansa kapag nanalo itong bise presidente.

Ayon kay Leviste maaaring pangunahan ni Duterte ang pagpapatupad ng Batangas Kalusugan card sa buong bansa.

“As a mayor, she championed the immediate passage of the bill of the universal healthcare for her local government unit and for the benefit of our kababayans in Davao City. And hopefully, through her leadership as Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines, she can spearhead the implementation of our Batangas Kalusugan card into a national advocacy for the benefit of our Filipinos,” sabi ni Leviste.

Iginiit ni Leviste ang kahalagahan na mabigyan ng medical assistance at gamot ang mga nangangailangan.

Ipinunto ni Leviste na hindi na bago kay Duterte ang healthcare dahil siya ay nagtapos ng BS Respiratory Therapy.

Nag-aral si Duterte sa San Pedro College sa Davao City noong 1999. Nang matapos mag-abugado nais sana ni Duterte na ipagpatuloy ang kanyang pag-aaral sa medisina.

“When I was waiting for the results of the Bar, I was already thinking of going back to medical school. But hindi ako in-encourage ng family members ko. It was so frustrating not to be in the frontlines knowing that it was my interest and it is in my heart to become a doctor,” sabi ni Duterte.

Nag-volunteer si Duterte sa Davao del Norte Regional Medical Center bilang respiratory therapist upang makatulong sa paglaban sa COVID-19 at natigil lamang nang tumakbo ito sa pagkabise presidente.
