BUMISITA kay President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang mga opisyal mula sa limang bansa ngayong Biyernes, Hunyo 17.

Ayon kay Australian ambassador Steven James Robinson nag-usap sila ni Marcos kaugnay ng pagpapatibay ng relasyon ng Australia at Pilipinas na nagsimula noon pang 1800s at lalong tumibay matapos ang Ikalawang Digmaang Pandaigdig.

Napag-usapan din umano nila ang pagpapatuloy ng kooperasyon ng dalawang bansa sa militar na pagsasanay at ang tulong ng Australia sa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Nananatili rin umanong suportado ng Australia ang naging desisyon sa agawan ng teritoryo sa West Philippine Sea.

“I reiterated our commitment to the Philippines in supporting the outcome of the arbitral award, and supporting the Philippines, as it goes forward dealing with difficult regional issues,” sabi ni Robinson.

Napag-usapan naman umano ni Marcos at Jaroslaw Szczepankiewicz, Chargé d’ Affaires ng Poland ang posibleng pagpapalawig ng kooperasyon ng Pilipinas at Poland.

Binanggit din nito na ang Poland ang gumagawa ng Black Hawks helicopter ng Philippine Air Force.

“We also discussed the increase of the people to people contacts in the context of first, overseas Filipino workers coming to Poland, second constant increase in numbers and opportunities for the development of cultural and scientific cooperation, and third in terms of the Polish scholarship to the Filipino students,” sabi ni Szczepankiewicz.

Ayon naman kay F.M. Borhan Uddin, Ambassador ng Bangladesh, na napag-usapan nila ni Marcos ang pagtutulungan sa larangan ng agrikultura at paggawa ng gamot.

Nauna ng sinabi ni Marcos na nais nitong palakasin ang lokal na paggawa ng generic medicine.

Binigyan-diin naman umano ni Peter Francis Tavita Kell, Ambassador ng New Zealand ang kahalagahan ng kooperasyon ng dalawang bansa para sa kapayapaan at pag-unlad ng Asia Pacific region.

“We also discussed the contribution that the Filipino community makes to New Zealand, we discussed the opportunity for more travel between our two countries, tourism, education,” sabi pa ni Kell.

Nais naman umano ni Folakemi Ibidunni Akinleye, Ambassador ng Nigeria, na mapalakas ang kooperasyon ng kanyang bansa sa Pilipinas sa larangan ng agrikultura, natural gas, teknolohiya at finance.

“We discussed everything that these two countries can benefit from because the truth of the matter is that the whole world now needs collaboration, we’ve seen what has happened after the pandemic, and the Russia – Ukraine war has changed the dynamics, so we need more collaboration and that’s what we discussed,” sabi ni Akinleye.

Nabanggit din umano ni Akinleye kay Marcos na ang Nigeria ang ika-12 oil producer sa mundo at ikatlong pinakamalaking supplier ng natural gas.

Inimbitahan din ni Akinleye si Marcos na pumunta sa Nigeria.
