TULOY-tuloy ang paghahanda ng UP Fighting Maroons para sa nalalapit na UAAP Season 87.

Matapos ang two-week training sa Novi Sad, Serbia na kung saan nanalo ang Fighting Maroons sa kanilang lahat na tune-up games laban sa mga collegiate at pro teams, dadayo naman ang team sa Korea ngayong buwan.

Ang naturang training ay itataguyod ng masugid na UPMBT supporter na si JJ Atencio, CEO ng Januarius Holdings Inc. (JHI).

Bagamat taga Atencio, hindi nag-atubili si Atencio na suportahan ang Fighting Maroons.

“In the beginning, when they were the perennial underdogs and had not yet won a championship, I was attracted to the UP story. I identified with them because they were underdogs and I had a similar experience. Through hard work, persistence, dedication, integrity, sincerity and prayer, you can reach your goal. And I did, they did,” pahayag ni Atencio.

Pinuri naman ni UP Office for Athletics and Sports Development (UP OASD) Director Bo Perasol ang patuloy na supirta ni Atencio para sa Fighting Maroons.

“JJ is like a father figure to the boys. We are really grateful for his generosity and help in our overseas training camps. More than that, we are extremely blessed to have him as a partner in guiding the players and looking after them beyond the corners of the basketball court,” pahayag ni Perasol, na siya ding UP head coach nung unang magbigay ng suporta si Atencio nung 2018.
