PH nagpasalamat sa Indonesia, Mary Jane Veloso uuwi na ng PH Dec. 18
KUMPIRMADO na ang pag-uwi sa Pilipinas ni Death Row convict Mary Jane Veloso mula Indonesia.
Ayon kay Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, nagpapasalamat ang pamahalaan ng Pilipinas sa Indonesia.
“With much appreciation and gratefulness to the Republic of Indonesia, we confirm the imminent return of our kababayan, Mary Jane Veloso,” pahayag ni Bersamin.
“Her homecoming is the fruit of more than a decade of persistent discussions, consultations and diplomacy,” dagdag ni Bersamin
Labing apat na taon na nakulong si Veloso sa Indonesia matapos makumpiskahan ng illegal na droga.
“Duty-bound as we are to honor the conditions for her transfer to Philippine jurisdiction, we are truly elated to welcome Mary Jane back to her homeland and family, from whom she has been distanced for too long,” pahayag ni Bersamin.
Inaasahang darating si Veloso sa Pilipinas sa Disyembre 18 ng 12:50 ng hatinggabi.
