NANANAWAGAN ngayon ni House Majority Leader at Leyte 1st Dist. Rep. Martin G. Romualdez sa mamamayan na isantabi na ang “politika” bunsod para magkawatak-watak ang mga Pilipino. Sa halip ay magsama-samang suportahan si President-Elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. at Vice-President-Elect Inday Sara Duterte.

Ang naging panawagan ni Romualdez ay kaugnay sa nakalipas na proklamasyon nina Marcos at Duterte sa Kamara de Representantes matapos ang isinagawang tatlong araw na “marathon session” para sa “national canvassing” kasama ang Senado.

Binigyang diin ni Romualdez na ngayong tapos na ang 2022 national at local elections, panahon naman aniya para magkaisa ang Sambayanan upang suportahan ang mga nanalong lider ng ating bansa. Alang-alang sa kapanakanan ng nakararaming Pilipino.

“Senator Marcos, Jr. received 31,629,738 votes or a lead of more than 16,594,010 votes over his nearest rival Vice-President Maria Leonor Gerona Robredo. For the Vice-Presidency, Mayor Sara Duterte received 32,208,417 votes and had a margin of 22,879,210 votes over his rival, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan,” sabi ni Romualdez sa nakalipas na “joint session” ng Kongreso at Senado.

Ipinaliwanag pa ni Romualdez na tapos na ang eleksiyon kaya wala na aniyang dahilan para magkawatak-watak muli ang mga Pilipino. Sa halip ay tulungan na lamang ang bagong administrasyon para maisulong nito ang mga programa para sa bansa.

“With the country reeling from the impact of the global pandemic and other major calamities and disasters. It was evident that the nation was divided as to what direction to take in order to move forward. But the majority has spoken, it is high time that we listen to their voice and uphold the outcome of our democratice process,” paliwanag pa ni Romualdez.

Sinabi din ng mambabatas na kailangan narin maghilom ang sugat na idinulot ng politika sa bansa na lalong naging dahilan upang magkawatak-watak ang mga Pilipino. Dahil sa magkakaibang paniniwala, opinion at pinapanigang kandidato.

“Let us heal the wounds of political division. Brace ourselves for the challenges ahead, and move forward as a strong and united Philippines. Let us be prepared to work harder for the nation and give our full support to the new leadership. At the end of the day, we are all Filipinos and we want nothing than see our beloved nation charts its own course and ultimately triumph,” pagtatapos ni Romualdez.
