Tengco pinangunahan paglulunsad ng Pagcor P600M Alumni Center
PINANGUNAHAN ni Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Chairman at CEO Alejandro H. Tengco nitong Martes, Hunyo 10, ang opisyal na paglulunsad ng ikalawang bahagi ng konstruksyon ng gusali ng Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association Inc. (PMAAAI) sa Fort Andres Bonifacio.
Ang anim-na-palapag na gusali, na pangangalanan na “Center for Leadership Excellence of the PMAAAI,” ay itinatayo mula sa P600 milyon pondo mula sa Newport World Resorts Foundation, ang corporate social responsibility arm ng isa sa mga lisensyadong integrated resort ng PAGCOR.
Ayon kay G. Tengco, isa itong magandang halimbawa ng public-private partnership at kongretong suporta ng gaming industry sa pagtataguyod ng kaunlaran.
“This project is truly remarkable because it is being constructed at no cost to the Philippine government,” aniya. “It stands as proof that the gaming industry, when properly regulated and responsibly managed, can be a strong partner in nation-building.”
Una nang naglabas ang PAGCOR ng P300 milyon para sa istruktura ng gusali at sinundan ng karagdagang P300 milyon para sa kasalukuyang interior fit-out phase.
Kapag natapos, magsisilbi itong opisyal na punong-tanggapan ng PMAAAI at venue para sa mga forum, leadership training, at iba pang aktibidad para sa mga susunod na lider ng militar.
“We are optimistic that through this future Center for Leadership Excellence, we will not only help strengthen the PMAAAI as an institution but also support the Armed Forces and our men and women in uniform,” dagdag ni Tengco.
Giit pa ng PAGCOR chief, matagal nang sumusuporta ang gaming sector sa mga proyektong may malawakang benepisyo para sa lipunan.
“This structure is solid proof of what can be achieved when public service and private enterprise are united by a shared vision for progress and patriotism,” aniya pa.
Kaugnay nito, naglaan din ang PAGCOR ngayong taon ng pondo para sa mga makabagong pasilidad ng Philippine Military Academy (PMA), kabilang ang modern warfare laboratory, dagdag na sports facilities, patient transport vehicle, at pagkukumpuni ng Candidate Control Liaison Office ng PMA sa Quezon City.
