INAPRUBAHAN ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang panukala na dodoble sa service incentive leave ng mga empleyado sa pribadong sektor.

Sa botong 273 affirmative, walang negative at abstention, inaprubahan ng Kamara de Representantes ang House Bill 988 na mag-aamyenda sa Labor Code of the Philippines.

Sa ilalim ng HB 988 ay gagawin ng 10 araw ang paid service incentive leave ng mga empleyado mula sa kasalukuyang limang araw.

“At present, our laws do not require employers the granting of sickness and vacation leaves. These work incentives are given based on the prerogative of the employers either by express stipulation on the employee’s contract or thru collective bargaining agreement. What the Labor Code provides instead are service incentive leaves (SIL),” sabi sa explanatory note ng panukala.

Naniniwala ang mga kongresista na ang pagbibigay ng dagdag na benepisyo sa mga empleyado ay makatutulong upang mas paghusayan ng mga ito ng kanilang pagtatrabaho.
