NILAGDAAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang isang Executive Order na lumilikha sa Water Resources Management Office (WRMO) sa ilalim ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) upang tiyakin ang suplay ng tubig.

Sa ilalim ng Executive Order No. 22, ang WRMO ay inaatasan na agad na ipatupad ang Integrated Water Resources Management alinsunod sa United Nations Sustainable Development Goals at balangkasin ang Water Resources Master Plan (IWMP).

Ang EO ay inilabas ng Palasyo sa gitna ng tumataas na pangangailangan sa kumokonting suplay ng tubig.

“To avert water crisis, minimize and avoid conflicts, and consistent with the State’s sole ownership and control over the country’s water resources, it is imperative for the Government to integrate and harmonize the policies, programs, and projects of all relevant agencies in the water resource sector in the fulfillment of their complementary governmental mandates,” sabi sa EO.

Ang WRMO ay inatasan din na tulungan ang Presidential Legislative Liaison Office na maitulak sa Kongreso ang mga panukalang batas na may kaugnayan sa tubig gaya ng pagtatayo ng Department of Water.

Isang undersecretary na itatalaga ng Pangulo ang mamumuno sa WRMO.
