ANG mga dumarating umanong eruplano ng US military sa bansa ay bahagi ng 2023 Cope Thunder exercise, ayon kay Philippine Air Force (PAF).

Ayon kay PAF spokesperson Colonel Maria Consuelo Castillo ang mga US aircraft ay mayroong diplomatic clearance mula sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Ang Cope Thunder ay isang joint military exercise ng US Air Force at PAF. Magtatagal umano ito hanggang sa Hulyo 21.

Sinabi naman ni Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) spokesperson Colonel Medel Aguilar na binantayan ang ahensya ang mga asset ng Amerika na dumarating sa bansa.

“When it comes to monitoring, inherent sa trabaho natin na i-monitor lahat. When it comes to entry of aircraft, there is also a process involved,” ani Aguilar.

Ayon kay Aguilar sumulat ang US Embassy noong Hulyo 6 at ibinigay ang detalye ng mga lalapag na Boeing C-17 transport aircraft sa bansa.
