TINIYAK ni House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez na sisikapin ng Kamara de Representantes na matulungan ang mga micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) na lumago upang makalikha ng mapapasukang trabaho at oportunidad na pagkakakitaan ng publiko.

Sa kanyang talumpati sa pagbubukas ng National Food Fair (Philippine Cuisine and Ingredients Show) na pinangunahan ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) sa SM Megamall sa Mandaluyong City, sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez na, “Dear friends, our mission in the House of Representatives is clear: to equip every Filipino entrepreneur with the necessary tools and conducive environment for success.”

“As the Speaker of the House, I pledge my commitment to this mission, confident that our collective efforts, our entrepreneurs’ resilience, and the Filipino people’s support will ensure its realization,” sabi pa nito.

Hinimok ni Speaker Romualdez ang mga dumalo na ipagdiwang ang napakahalagang kontribusyon ng mga MSME at tignan ang hinaharap kung saan sila ang nangunguna sa pagpapaunlad ng bansa.

Ayon kay Speaker Romualdez kinikilala ng Kamara ang malaking kontribusyon ng mga maliliit na negosyo sa ekonomiya ng bansa.

“Our legislative agenda is geared towards their empowerment and growth, working relentlessly to create a level playing field for all businesses,” sabi ng lider ng Kamara.

“Our initiatives – simplified business registration, tax reform, affordable financing, and digital infrastructure investment – reflect this commitment. We are convinced that reducing these barriers will unlock our MSMEs’ full potential, fostering their growth and furthering national progress,” giit pa nito.

Ayon kay Speaker Romualdez inaprubahan na ng Kamara ang ilang panukala at mayroon pang mga aaprubahan upang matulungan ang mga maliliit na negosyo gaya ng Government Financial Institutions Unified Initiatives to Distressed Enterprises for Economic Recovery (GUIDE) Act at House Bill No. 1171 o ang One Town, One Product Act (OTOP).

Ayon sa lider ng Kamara ito ay nakahanay sa polisiya ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. Idinagdag nito na ang Pangulo ay naglaan ng P1.2 bilyon sa ilalim ng 2023 national budget upang suportahan ang mga programa para sa MSME.

Ang GUIDE Act, na isa si Speaker Romualdez ang pangunahing may-akda, ay nag-oobliga sa mga government financial institution gaya ng Land Bank of the Philippines at Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) na maglaan ng pondong ipapautang sa mga maliliit na negosyo.

Upang magawa ito, itataas ng panukala ang kapital ng DBP sa P100 bilyon mula sa P35 bilyon. Ang Land Bank ay maglalaan ng P7.5 bilyon at P2.5 bilyon naman ang DBM para sa pautang sa MSME.

Ang OTOP law naman, ayon kay Speaker Romualdez ay naglalayong tulungan ang mga MSME na mapaganda ang kalidad ng kanilang mga produkto upang ito ay maging world competitive.

“The OTOP program incorporates a broad range of products and skill-based services native to specific localities. It mirrors the rich fabric of our cultural heritage and entrepreneurial vigor,” ani Speaker Romualdez.

Nagpasalamat si Speaker Romualdez sa mga organizer ng National Food Fair sa pag-imbita sa kanya at hinimok ang mga ito na pagyabungin pa ang entrepreneurial spirit ng mga Pilipino.

“As we indulge in the diverse offerings of this event, let us acknowledge that it is the entrepreneurial spirit and resilience of these enterprises that truly enrich our nation,” dagdag pa ni Speaker Romualdez.
