Pangulong Marcos susunod sa yapak ng ama
TINIYAK ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na susundan niya ang mga yapak ng kanyang amang si dating Pangulong Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr.
Ginawa ni Pangulong Marcos ang pahayag sa wreath-laying ceremony para sa paggunita sa ika-107 na kaarawan ng dating Pangulo sa Marcos Monument sa Batac City, Ilocos Norte.
“And that is very simple but not easy to achieve. But it is simple: be a Filipino, serve the Filipino, protect Filipinos and the Philippines,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Dumalo rin sa okasyon si First Lady Liza Marcos at ang First Family.
“I will continue to follow that credo,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
“Be a good Filipino. Be a Filipino that loves your countrymen. Be a Filipino that loves your country and do everything and sacrifice everything to achieve that purpose, to achieve that goal that you become a good Filipino and you leave the Philippines a better place than you found it,” dagdag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Ayon sa Pangulo, magiging giya niya ang mga polisiya ng kanyang ama.
“That is my continuing guide. That is the credo that we should live by. And for that, I will be eternally grateful to my dad for the lessons that he taught us, for the values that imbued in our very souls. And that has served us all well,” dagdag ni Pangulong Marcos.
