KUMPIYANSA si Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez na nakahikayat si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ng mga mamumuhunan sa ginawa nitong pagbida sa Pilipinas sa ginanap na Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Business and Investment Summit sa Laos.

Sa kaniyang mensahe sa ASEAN Business and Investment Summit noong Miyerkules, inilatag ni Pangulong Marcos ang istratehikong posisyon ng Pilipinas bilang lumalagong ekonomiya sa Southeast Asia, na may alok na iba’t ibang oportunidad sa iba’t ibang sektor gaya ng manufacturing, infrastructure, technology, at sustainable energy.

Sabi ni Speaker Romualdez na ang pagdami ng mga dayuhang mamumuhunan sa bansa ay makalilikha ng dagdag na mapapasukang trabaho na may disenteng pa-sweldo, magbubukas ng oportunidad para sa mga lokal na negosyo at dagdag na kita para sa pagpapatupad ng mga programa sa edukasyon, imprastraktura, agrikultura at iba pa.

“The President’s presentation at the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit sends a clear signal that the Philippines is open and ready for business. His emphasis on the country’s competitive advantages has positioned us at the forefront of investment opportunities in the region,” sabi ni Speaker Romualdez, lider ng mahigit 300 kinatawan sa Kamara de Representantes.

“We are confident that the results of his pitch will be seen soon as businesses respond to the opportunities that our country offers,” dagdag pa niya.

Muling tiniyak ni Speaker Romualdez ang pagsuporta ng Kamara sa legislative agenda ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Marcos upang mapagbuti pa ang pamumuhunan sa bansa.

“We remain committed to working with President Marcos’s administration’s initiatives to provide a more conducive environment for foreign investments as part of the broader goal of achieving inclusive and sustainable economic development for the Filipino people,” sabi niya.

Ayon kay Speaker Romualdez ang pakikisalamuha ni Pangulong Marcos sa ASEAN business community ay inaasahang magreresulta sa pagdagsa ng mga foreign direct investment (FDI) na lalo pang magpapatibay sa direksyon ng ekonomiya ng bansa.

“Foreign investors are now looking at the Philippines with fresh eyes, especially given our efforts to improve infrastructure, digitalization, and ease of doing business,” wika niya.

“These investments will bring in capital that will drive new projects, create thousands of jobs for Filipinos, and spur economic growth across multiple industries. From manufacturing to IT services and tourism, we foresee major boosts in both local enterprises and the labor market,” dagdag pa ni Speaker Romualdez.

Tinukoy din ni Romualdez na ang pagpasok ng mga mamumuhunan ay makatutulong sa pagkakaroon ng paglipat ng teknolohiya at kasanayan na pakikinabangan ng mga Pilipinong manggagawa at negosyante.

“Our people stand to gain from the innovation and expertise brought in by global companies. This will not only enhance our workforce’s competitiveness but also provide Filipino businesses with access to international markets and cutting-edge technologies,” aniya.

Sinabi pa ni Speaker Romualdez na ang aktibong pakikilahok ni Pangulong Marcos sa ika-44 at ika-45 ASEAN Summit ay lalong nagpatibay sa hangarin ng Pilipinas na bumuo ng matatag na ugnayang pang-ekonomiya sa pagitan ng ASEAN member states at karatig bansa, bagay na salig sa mithiin ng pamahalaan na gawing central hub ng komersyo at inobasyon sa rehiyon ang Pilipinas.
