“TULOY na tuloy” ang impeachment case laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte sa kabila ng pagsasauli ng Senado sa Kamara de Representantes ng Articles of Impeachment laban sa kontrobersiyal na Pangalawang Pangulo na nag-ugat sa kasong betrayal of public trust.

Ito ang ipinahayag ng Lead Prosecutor ng House Prosecution Panel para sa impeachment case case laban kay VP Sara Duterte na si Batangas 2nd District Representative Gerville “Jinky Bitrics” Luistro para linawin ang mga isyu matapos ang naging aksiyon ng Senado.

Sa ginanap na press conference sa Kongreso, sinabi ni Luistro na ikinagagalak (wine-welcome) ng House Prosecution Panel ang mga ipinadalang summon ng Senate Impeachment Court kay VP Sara upang sagutin nito ang mga kasong isinampa laban sa kaniya.

Ayon sa Batangas solon, mayroong sampung araw si VP Sara Duterte para sagutin ang lahat ng isyu na nakapaloob sa Articles of Impeachment na tatalakayin ng Senate Impeachment Court kung saan hindi naman siya bibigyan ng palugit.

Dahil dito, pagbibigay diin pa ni Luistro na ang ginawang pag-ako ng Senate Impeachment Court sa “jurisdiction” sa respondent (VP Sara) ay nangangahulugan na tuloy na tuloy ang gagawing paglilitis o impeachment trial ng Senado sa Pangalawang Pangulo.

“First of all we welcome the Impeachment Court’s service of summons to the Vice President. Apparently, the jurisdiction of the person of the respondent has been acquired already. She has a period of ten days to answer that is not extendable, and we hope that all issues that are being raised in the impeachment court will be tackled as well in the answer of the Vice President. So finally, the people of the Philippines from the answer of the Vice President. Isa lamang po ang ibig sabihin nito, tuloy na tuloy na po ang Impeachment Trial,” sabi ni Luistro.

Iginiit pa ni Luistro na bagama’t ibinalik ng Senado ang Articles of Impeachment sa Kamara de Representantes. Hindi parin umano ito dahilan para hindi matuloy ang gagawing paglilitis kay Duterte kung saan ay wala na aniyang maaaring humadlang.

“No one can stop this anymore because jurisdiction has been acquired already by the Impeachment Court over the person of the respondent,” pahayag pa ni Luistro.
