TAGUIG CITY — Pinaiigting ng National Bureau of Investigation–Dangerous Drugs Division (NBI-DDD) ang operasyon laban sa ilegal na droga sa Taguig City, kasunod ng intelligence information hinggil sa umano’y dumaraming drug dealers at drug dens sa lugar, kabilang ang posibleng operasyon ng tinatawag na “shabu tiangge.”

Isang hinihinalang drug personality ang naaresto, habang isang menor de edad na umano’y kasama nito ang dinala rin sa kustodiya, matapos ang isang buy-bust operation na isinagawa gamit ang ₱700,000 marked money.

Ayon sa NBI-DDD, mahigit isang buwan silang nagsagawa ng surveillance at validation bago isinagawa ang controlled transaction para makumpirma ang umano’y pagkakasangkot ng suspek sa distribusyon ng ilegal na droga.

Agad na inaresto ang suspek matapos makumpleto ang transaksyon. Ang menor de edad naman ay isinailalim sa kaukulang proseso alinsunod sa mga batas para sa proteksyon ng mga bata.

Lumabas sa paunang imbestigasyon na dati nang nasangkot ang pangunahing suspek bilang child in conflict with the law. Inihahanda na ang kaukulang kaso sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 9165 o Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Ayon sa isang NBI-DDD operative, patuloy na tinutukoy ng Bureau ang iba pang sangkot sa umano’y drug network, kabilang ang mga posibleng drug den at ang sinasabing “shabu tiangge” sa Taguig.

“This operation was the product of weeks of surveillance and validation, and the ₱700,000 marked money reflects the scale of the transaction we were targeting. But this does not end with one arrest. We are monitoring a growing number of suspected drug dealers and possible drug dens in Taguig. We are also validating intelligence on what could potentially be a shabu tiangge operating in the area. These are active intelligence and operational matters, so we cannot disclose further details at this time,” pahayag ng ahensya.

Sinabi ni NBI Director Atty. Melvin A. Matibag na hindi titigil ang Bureau sa pagtugis sa mga nasa likod ng ilegal na droga, maging street-level dealers man o bahagi ng mas malalaking network.

“We are receiving information that indicates we cannot afford to become complacent. Our Dangerous Drugs Division will continue developing these leads and pursuing those responsible, whether they are street-level dealers or individuals operating larger networks. We will follow the evidence wherever it leads,” pahayag ni Matibag.

Patuloy naman ang imbestigasyon ng NBI upang matukoy ang pinagmulan ng ilegal na droga at iba pang posibleng kasabwat.

Binigyang-diin ni Matibag na pangunahing layunin ng kampanya ang protektahan ang mga komunidad at kabataan laban sa epekto ng ilegal na droga.

“I will not stop these operations because behind every young person victimized by illegal drugs is a Filipino family that suffers. I can feel the pain, especially of the parents who see their children’s lives being destroyed by drugs. The President feels the same way and has directed us to keep the pressure on those who sell and distribute illegal drugs. Ayaw niyang mapahamak ang ating mga kabataan. We will continue doing everything within the law to protect them and our communities,” dagdag ni Matibag.
