HINIMOK si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) o ang Pag-IBIG Fund na dagdagan pa ang mga naabot nitong tagumpay at tumulong sa Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) upang matugunan ang housing backlog.

Sa kanyang talumpati sa Pag-IBIG Fund Chairman’s Report na ginanap sa Pasay City, sinabi ng Pangulo na bukod sa magandang financial standing ng Pag-IBIG ay patunay sa tagumpay nito ang benepisyong naihatid nito sa mga miyembro at ekonomiya ng bansa.

“Thus, I call upon the Fund to further build on this growth and momentum to continue to improve the lot of the Filipino workforce, and also to significantly assist in addressing our housing backlog as an industry leader in home mortgage financing,” ani Pangulong Marcos.

“On this note, I challenge the Fund to work closely with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, saddled as it is by budgetary constraints, in order to find effective strategies to ease our housing situation, by leveraging on your industry experience, expertise and acumen,” sabi pa ng Pangulo.

Hinimok din ng Pangulo ang mga opisyal at kawani ng Pag-IBIG na gamiting gabay ang prinsipyo ng transparency at accountability sa pagganap sa kanilang tungkulin.

Kinilala rin ng Pangulo ang developers, employers, housing industry players at iba pang nakatuwang ng Pag-IBIG Fund upang magkaroon ng maayos na matitirahan ang mga Pilipino gayundin ang 2.6 milyong miyembro nito na nagbibigay ng kontribusyon kaya nabuo ang P827 bilyong asset ng ahensya.

“Indeed, the members’ contributions are the lifeblood of the Pag-IBIG Fund and the reason for its continued success,” wika pa ng Pangulo.

“I therefore exhort the members to remain ever-productive in their employment and commercial pursuits, so as to continue to sustain the Pag-IBIG Fund, animated by the same spirit of mutual help and benefit that was the theory and blueprint for its creation 45 years ago,” dagdag pa nito.

Noong nakaraang taon ay nasa P117 bilyong halaga ng housing loan ang inilabas ng Pag-IBIG para sa kanilang 105,000 miyembro.
