IKINALUGOD ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ang hatol na pagkakakulong ng korte sa Kuwait laban sa pumaslang sa Pinay domestic helper na si Jullebee Ranara.

Sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez na nagdadala ito ng positibong mensahe sa mga overseas Filipino workers (OFW).

“We thank the authorities in Kuwait–from its police force to its court–for helping serve justice in the case of our kababayan, Jullebee Ranara,” ani Speaker Romualdez

“Her brutal killing shocked us to our core, especially the OFWs. This verdict goes a long way in assuaging their fears. All they want is to do decent work in order to build their families’ future,” sabi pa ng lider ng 311 mambabatas ng Kamara de Representantes.

“This is also a recognition of the importance of OFWs in the Arab states and beyond. We help keep together these foreign homes, we help build their impressive edifices, and we take care of their elderly and sick when nobody else is willing to,” dagdag pa ni Speaker Romualdez.

Nagpasalamat din si Speaker Romualdez sa mga opisyal ng mga ahensya ng gobyerno, partikular ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), at iba pang ahensya na tumutok sa kaso ni Ranara.
