TINIYAK ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez na mayroong mga ginagawa ang Kamara de Representantes laban sa mga hoarder at price manipulator ng mga produktong agrikultura.

Ginawa ni Speaker Romualdez ang pagbabanta nito sa mga negosyante na nasa likod ng pag-ipit sa suplay ng sibuyas at iba pang produktong pang-agrikultura upang tumaas ang presyo nito para kumita ng malaki.

“We’d like to tell the public that the House of Representatives will use all its resources, and employ all its efforts to ensure that we bring back stable prices and stable supply of these basic commodities,” sabi ni Speaker Romualdez.

Sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez na sa susunod na linggo ay magsasagawa ng pagdinig ang House Committee on Agriculture and Food na pinamumunuan ni Quezon Rep. Wilfrido Mark Enverga kaugnay ng hoarding at price manipulation.

Ayon pa kay Speaker Romualdez ang Kamara ay nakikipagtulungan sa Executive department partikular sa Department of Agriculture upang mapahinto ang “foolish activities” ng mga mapagsamantalang negosyante.

“My message is: moderate your greed, release the supply of these basic commodities –these vegetables, whether they be onion, garlic. Moderate your greed, give us fair prices, if not, your days are numbered, we’re going after all of you,” dagdag pa ni Speaker Romualdez.

Batay umano sa natanggap na impormasyon ng Kamara, mayroon sapat an suplay ng sibuyas sa bansa kaya walang dahilan upang tumaas ng labis ang presyo nito.

“It only points out to one thing, there is hoarding, there is price manipulation. So we are warning those who are behind these nefarious activities—that your days are numbered, the House will be going after you,” sabi pa ni Speaker Romualdez. “So stop this foolishness, bring back the supply, stabilize it, work with us. And if not, you’re against us—your days are numbered.”

Nauna ng nanawagan si Speaker Romualdez sa DA at Department of Trade and Industry na sabihin sa Kongreso kung sino ang nasa likod ng hoarding at price manipulation upang kanilang mapatawag ang mga ito.

“We will invite all of them, if not, have the authorities arrest them,” sabi pa ng lider ng Kamara.

Nangako naman ng suporta si Speaker Romualdez sa DA at DTI upang magampanan ang kanilang tungkulin.
