BINAWI na ng Department of Agriculture (DA) ang temporary ban sa importasyon ng mga domestic at wild birds kabilang na ang mga poultry product mula sa Netherlands.

Sa Memorandum Order 31 na ipinalabas ni DA Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel Jr., inalis na ang temporary ban matapos na ideklara ng World Organization for Animal Health na avian influenza-free na ang Netherlands.

Wala na ring naiulat na bagong outbreak simula noong Mayo 16, 2025.

Ipinatupad ang temporary importation ban noong Disyembre 2024 matapos kumpirmahin ng mga Dutch veterinary authority ang outbreak ng H5 (N untyped) Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) noong Nobyembre 17, 2024 sa Putten, Gelderland na nakaapekto sa kanilang mga domestic bird.

“Based on the evaluation of the Department of Agriculture, the risk of contamination from importing live poultry, poultry meat, day-old chicks, eggs, and semen is negligible,” ayon sa memorandum.

Inatasan din ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang DA na maghanap ng iba’t-ibang pagkukuhanan ng karne.
