Adiong kay Sen. Imee: “Gawin n’yo ang trabaho n’yo—ginagawa namin amin”
BINANATAN ng isang lider ng Kamara de Representantes mula sa Mindanao si Sen. Imee Marcos nitong Huwebes kaugnay ng panawagan nito na palitan si Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez—isang pahayag na “walang basehan, laban sa prinsipyo ng demokrasya, at isang hindi maingat na hakbang.”
“This is not about Speaker Romualdez. This is about the institutional mandate of the House to initiate impeachment. Trying to pin this all on one man is a cheap political trick,” mariing pahayag ni House Deputy Majority Leader Zia Alonto Adiong, isa sa mga lider ng House Young Guns.
Ayon kay Adiong, sa halip na batikusin si Speaker Romualdez, dapat tuparin ng mga senador ang tungkulin nilang dinggin ang mga kasong impeachment, hindi ang iwasan ito.
“The Speaker does not serve at the pleasure of the Senate. He serves because the House overwhelmingly trusts him to lead us in a time of great political responsibility. And he has done so with utmost integrity,” dagdag pa ni Adiong.
“Maybe the better question is: Why is the Senate avoiding accountability? Why archive a complaint when the Supreme Court hasn’t even ruled with finality yet?” tanong pa ng kongresista.
