CAMP PRES. QUIRINO, Ilocos Sur–Aabot sa P60.38 million na full grown marijuana ang binunot at sinunog sa bundok sakop ng Sugpon kamakailan pero walang nahuli isa mang suspek.

Ayon kay Col. Agosto Asuncion, police director ng lalawigang ito, naka base sa PDEA pre-operations control No. 1-00-02212026-004 na pinamumunoan ni Col. Fidel Junio ang operasyon.

Ayon pa kay Col. Asuncion, umabot ng 33 marijuana plantation sites ang nadiskubre sa lawak na 40,300 square meters sa kagubatan.

Umabot sa 267,890 fully grown marijuana plants ang nabunot at sinunog, ayon sa mga pulis.

“Authorities conducted proper documentation, inventory, evaluation, and onsite destruction through burning of the marijuana plants,” ayon sa hepe ng pulisya.

“Law enforcement agencies are continuing follow-up investigations to identify those responsible for maintaining the illegal plantations,” dagdag ni Asuncion.
