ITINURING ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na hindi mapagkakatiwalaan ang impormasyon tungkol sa umano’y “Operation Romanov” na pakana laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte at sa kanyang pamilya matapos hindi makipagtulungan sa mga imbestigador ang taong nagbanggit ng alegasyon.

Inilahad ni NBI Regional Director for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Atty. Jeremy Lotoc ang assessment nang hilingin sa kanya ni senator-judge Erwin Tulfo na suriin ang kredibilidad ng impormasyon sa impeachment proceedings ni Duterte.

Unang binanggit ng vlogger na si Princess Maui ang umano’y operasyon sa online press conference ni Duterte noong Nobyembre 2024.

Tinanong ni Tulfo kung sineseryoso ng NBI ang alegasyon.

“That’s why, when we heard Princess Maui’s question about Romanov, we conducted an open-source investigation. We looked into it,” sabi ni Lotoc.

Hiniling din ni Tulfo kay Lotoc na uriin ang impormasyon gamit ang standard intelligence reliability ratings.

Ipinaliwanag ni Lotoc na inimbitahan ng NBI si Princess Maui upang linawin ang kanyang alegasyon, ngunit hindi ito humarap sa mga imbestigador.

“Since Princess Maui did not appear, we had no basis to verify the claim, so we classified it as non-validated information,” sabi niya.

Idinagdag ni Lotoc na lumitaw sa open-source review ng NBI na nauna nang binanggit ni Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte ang “Operation Romanov” sa isang forum sa Davao noong Enero 28, 2024.

“We found that the first person to discuss it was Mayor Baste. So, we observed that the Romanov reference originated from him. Why Princess Maui raised it to the Vice President remains unclear. It doesn’t make sense,” sabi ni Lotoc.

Humingi naman si Tulfo ng malinaw na assessment kung mapagkakatiwalaan ang impormasyong inilabas sa online press conference ni Duterte.

“Not reliable, as far as the Cybercrime Division is concerned,” sagot ni Lotoc.

Nilinaw ni Lotoc na nakatuon ang kanyang testimonya sa kredibilidad ng umano’y pakana at hindi sa hiwalay na legal o impeachment implications ng mga sumunod na pahayag ni Duterte sa press conference.

Batay sa assessment ng NBI na iniharap sa impeachment court, nananatiling hindi beripikado ang umano’y “Operation Romanov.”
