NAGLABAS ng paglilinaw ang ABS-CBN News nitong Miyerkules kaugnay ng isang bahagi ng desisyon ng Korte Suprema na nagdeklara na unconstitutional ang impeachment case laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.

Binigyang-diin ng network na hindi nila sinabi sa kanilang mga ulat na ipinadala ng Kamara sa Senado ang Articles of Impeachment nang hindi ito inaprubahan sa plenaryo, na ginamit sa naging desisyon ng Korte Suprema.

“ABS-CBN News respectfully clarifies that the articles cited in the Supreme Court decision on the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte did not state that the House of Representatives transmitted the articles of impeachment to the Senate without a plenary vote,” ayon sa pahayag ng network.

Batay sa paglilinaw, ang Footnote 30 sa pahina 8 ng desisyon ng Korte ay tumukoy sa dalawang partikular na ulat mula sa ABS-CBN.

Iginiit ng network na malinaw na binanggit ng mga nasabing ulat ang plenary vote na isinagawa ng Kamara noong Pebrero 5, 2025, at inilathala pa ang bilang ng mga mambabatas na sumuporta sa reklamo.

Ayon sa unang artikulo:

“More than 200 members of the House of Representatives on Wednesday signed an impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte after more than a month of seeming inaction on complaints filed against her by members of civil society.”

“At the House plenary session on Wednesday (February 5, 2025), 215 of 306 House members supported a fresh complaint against Duterte, whose spending of confidential funds has come under scrutiny.”

Ang ikalawang artikulo, na binanggit din sa desisyon ng Korte Suprema, ay nagdetalye ng mga pangyayari matapos ang pag-apruba sa plenaryo:

“Senate Secretary Renato Bantug on Wednesday (February 5) formally received the Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte from his House counterpart, Secretary General Reginald Velasco, just hours after 215 out of 306 members of the lower chamber endorsed the impeachment complaint.”

“Velasco arrived in the Senate at 4:47 p.m. to transmit the verified complaint for impeachment.”

Sa desisyon ng Korte Suprema, idineklara nitong labag sa Konstitusyon ang impeachment complaint laban kay Vice President Duterte dahil sa paglabag sa “one-year bar rule” at pinagbawalan ang Senado na ituloy ang paglilitis.

Nagsumite na ng motion for reconsideration ang Mababang Kapulungan, na kasalukuyang nakabinbin sa Korte Suprema.
