“This incident highlights the urgent need to protect journalists, who play an important role in informing the public and upholding democracy,” ayon sa PTFOMS sa isang statement.
“We need to thoroughly examine this cowardly act and ensure that justice is served,” dagdag ng ahensya.
“We condemn all acts of violence and intimidation against journalists and assert that such actions have no place in a democratic society.
We stand in solidarity with Mr. Lavapiez and all media professionals, reaffirming our commitment to safeguarding their rights and security.
The freedom of the press is essential to our democracy, and we will continue to advocate for measures that protect those who strive to uphold this freedom every day,” sabi ng PTFoMS.
