“Articles I, III and IV from this point forward are hereby withdrawn,” ani Escudero matapos ang informal caucus ng mga senator-judge.

“Once articles of impeachment are filed before the court or any complaint filed before any court for that matter, it is already subject to and under the jurisdiction and disposition of the court, not by the party,” ani Escudero.

“We believe, Your Honor, that by the withdrawal of the three articles by the prosecution, it means that this will no longer be part of the impeachment trial,” ani Luistro.

“And therefore, they are no longer proper subject matter of the verdict to be rendered by the Honorable Impeachment Court,” dagdag niya.

Ayon kay Luistro, nabuo ang desisyon “after a careful study of what is best for the impeachment court, for the public, and even for the respondent.”

“And if the desire of the defense is to be able to share all the pieces of evidence that they have, there are a lot of platforms which they may consider, Your Honor, if the intention only is to share this publicly,” aniya.

Sheila Sison. “It is unbelievable. And to be honest, it is unacceptable,” wika niya.

“The prosecution’s case must stand or fall on its own. That’s their burden. That’s not the defence burden,” dagdag ni Sison.

Iginiit din ni Sison na ang pagbawi ay “one of the reasons why the entire articles of impeachment should be dismissed.”

Nilinaw ni Luistro na ang pahayag niya tungkol sa “platforms” ay “in response to the statement of the defense that the evidence of the prosecution have been seen by the public already.”

“Who is saying that we have to finish this by November?” tanong ni Cayetano. “I’m very uncomfortable with that. I think it will be a disservice to the Filipino people.”
