NANAWAGAN si Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson sa Senado at Kamara na ituring ang pagbubunyag ng malalaking insertions sa national budget bilang pagkakataon upang tiyakin na magiging pork-free ang 2026 budget.

Ito ay para isulong ang transparency at pananagutan sa paggamit ng pondo.

Ikinuwento ni Lacson na ipinaliwanag niya ito sa majority caucus nitong Lunes matapos ipahayag ng ilan ang pangamba na baka maapektuhan ang institusyon. “I can actually feel and understand completely the sentiments expressed by my colleagues, at least the members of the majority bloc during our majority caucus yesterday. So I explained to them that the mention of ‘almost all senators’ was not intended to put them or the whole Senate on the spot, nor did I have the intention of calling them out particularly,” aniya.

Dagdag niya, ang paglabas ng umano’y mga substandard at “ghost” flood-control projects—na ibinunyag sa mga pagdinig ng Blue Ribbon Committee at iba pang imbestigasyon—ay patunay ng mas malalim na krisis na dapat tugunan ng buong institusyon. “The overarching reason for my disclosure or revelation was to point out that we must accept the fact that we are all in crisis owing to the recent anomalies involving the substandard and even ghost flood control projects unearthed in the course of the Blue Ribbon Committee hearings and other similar investigations,” wika niya.

“Hindi ito patungkol sa tao-tao, maging senador o congressmen. Ito ay tungkol sa aming lahat, reminder na binabantayan tayo ng taumbayan,” dagdag niya.

Binalaan din ni Lacson na maaaring masapul ang ekonomiya kapag ang pondo para sa infrastrukturang planado at sinuri sa antas ng barangay, lungsod, at rehiyon ay nailihis o nabawasan. Aniya, kung tatamaan ang local counterpart funds ng mga proyektong may foreign assistance, maaaring malagay sa peligro ang mga ito at mapahiya ang bansa sa harap ng mga dayuhang katuwang.
