IPINAHAYAG ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ang kaniyang buong suporta sa panawagan na buksan sa publiko ang mga deliberasyon ng bicameral conference committee kaugnay ng panukalang national budget.

“Transparency and accountability must be the cornerstones of the budget process,” ayon kay Speaker Romualdez. “I support the move to make bicameral conference committee discussions open to the public. This is a crucial step in restoring public trust and ensuring that the national budget truly reflects the will and welfare of the people.”

Ang #OpenBicam campaign ay layuning buksan sa publiko ang mga pag-uusap ng bicameral conference committee—ang huling bahagi ng pag-aayos ng pambansang badyet mula sa Kamara at Senado.

Iminungkahi ni Speaker Romualdez na i-live stream ang mga pagdinig ng bicam upang magkaroon ng real-time access ang mga mamamayan at iba pang stakeholders, at mas mapalalim ang pagsusuri ng publiko sa proseso ng badyet.

Binigyang-diin ni Speaker Romualdez na ang hakbang na ito ay tugma sa layunin ng kaniyang liderato na tiyaking napapangalagaan ang pondo ng bayan.

“We owe it to every Filipino to ensure that the budget is crafted with integrity, discipline, and full disclosure,” ani Romualdez.

Dagdag pa ng mambabatas, ang mga repormang naipatupad ng ika-19 na Kongreso ay nagsilbing matibay na batayan para mapalawak pa ang transparency sa proseso ng badyet.

“We passed key accountability measures. Now we must build on that momentum by opening the most sensitive and final stages of the legislative process to the Filipino people,” aniya.

Tiniyak din ni Romualdez na makikipagtulungan siya sa kapwa mambabatas mula sa Kamara at Senado upang ma-institutionalize ang #OpenBicam.

Hinikayat ng lider ng Kamara ang mga civil society organizations, mga institusyong akademiko, ang media at lahat ng Pilipinong may malasakit na bantayan ang mga deliberasyon.

“Makialam, makinig, manood. We invite every citizen to witness how their budget is being crafted—live and unfiltered. This is your money. This is your future. And now, this is your Congress,” paanyaya ni Speaker Romualdez.
