PINURI nina TINGOG Party-list Representatives Yedda Marie K. Romualdez, Andrew Julian K. Romualdez at Jude A. Acidre ang paglagda bilang batas ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa Republic Act (RA) 12288, o ang Career Progression System for Public School Teachers and School Leaders Act, na kanilang inakda.

Itinatakda ng bagong batas ang competency-based promotions at makatarungang pagtaas ng sahod para sa mga guro sa pampublikong paaralan.

Pinalalawak nito ang career pathways sa pamamagitan ng paglikha ng mga bagong posisyon—Teacher IV hanggang VII at Master Teacher II hanggang V—at tinitiyak ang pagkakapantay sa school administration track, na nagbubukas ng mas patas na oportunidad para sa promosyon at pinabuting professional development sa buong pampublikong sistema ng edukasyon.

Binigyang-diin ni Rep. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez ang epekto ng batas sa mga guro at mag-aaral: “Our teachers are at the heart of education reform. By recognizing their excellence and giving them clear opportunities for advancement, we are not only rewarding their dedication but also uplifting the quality of education for our children. This law is a victory for every Filipino learner whose dreams are shaped in the classroom.”

Itinuro naman ni Rep. Andrew Julian K. Romualdez, vice chairperson ng House committee on higher and technical education, ang katarungan at transparency na dala ng panukala: “For far too long, promotions for teachers have depended on vacancies rather than merit. This law changes that. Advancement will now be based on competence and performance, giving every teacher a fair chance to grow professionally and serve our schools better.”

Ipinuwesto ni Rep. Jude A. Acidre, chairperson ng House committee on higher and technical education at co-chairperson ng Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM 2), ang reporma sa mas malawak na pananaw ng pamamahala sa edukasyon: “This law is about restoring dignity to the teaching profession. By expanding career pathways, harmonizing qualification standards, and institutionalizing merit-based progression, we are aligning teacher development with student success. It is a reform that honors both the calling of the teacher and the future of the learner.”

Iginiit ng mga kinatawan ng Tingog na ang RA 12288 ay higit pa sa pagkilala sa serbisyo ng mga guro kundi isang pagtupad ng pangako na patuloy na itataas ang antas ng propesyon, pabubutihin ang kalidad ng pampublikong edukasyon, at mamumuhunan sa kinabukasan ng bansa.

Nangako rin ang mga kongresista na isusulong ang mga karagdagang reporma na magpapalakas sa mga guro, magpapatatag sa mga paaralan, at titiyak na ang bawat mag-aaral na Pilipino ay may oportunidad na magtagumpay.
