IKINONDENA ni Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co nitong Lunes ang mga alegasyong ibinato laban sa kanya sa pagdinig sa Senado, at tinawag niyang pawang walang basehan, “hearsay” at “politically motivated” ang mga ito.

“I vehemently deny all the baseless and irresponsible accusations made against me during the Senate hearing,” pahayag ni Co.

“These unsubstantiated claims which attempt to implicate me are not only hearsay but are also politically motivated designed to mislead the public and deflect accountability,” dagdag ni Co.

Ang mga paratang ay nagmula sa joint affidavit ng mag-asawang Curlee at Sarah Discaya, na nagsabing ginamit umano ang pangalan ng ilang mambabatas kaugnay ng komisyon mula sa mga proyekto.

Iprinisinta ang kanilang joint affidavit sa pagdinig ng Senado kaugnay ng mga umano’y anomalya sa mga flood control project.

Binigyang-diin ni Co na ang 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA) ay dumaan sa tamang proseso ng lehislatura at kasalukuyang sumasailalim sa judicial review.

“The 2025 GAA was certified and approved by both Houses of Congress and signed by the President,” giit ni Co.

“As mentioned during the Senate hearing, the President even vetoed some provisions and withheld the release of funds for projects,” dagdag pa niya.

Gayunpaman, binanggit ni Co na ang bisa ng 2025 GAA ay kasalukuyang dinidinig sa Korte Suprema at sa Office of the Ombudsman.

“For this reason, I am unable to comment on the matter to the public but reserve my right to comment on this matter, if and when required by the courts where this matter is pending,” pahayag ni Co.
