PINAG-IISIPAN ng mga miyembro ng Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) na magsampa ng ethics complaint laban kay Rep. Kiko Barzaga, dahil sa kanyang umano’y walang basehang akusasyon laban sa kapuwa mambabatas.

Ayon kay Lanao del Sur Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong, tinitingnan ng Lakas-CMD ang ethics rap laban kay Barzaga dahil sa pagpapalaganap ng fake news at baseless claims, at sinabing dapat itigil na ni Barzaga ang pagbibintang nang walang ebidensiya.

Sa halip ay ituon niya ang pansin sa paggawa ng mga batas na kapaki-pakinabang hindi lamang sa kanyang distrito kundi para sa buong bansa, ani Adiong.

“It’s pure nonsense,” sinabi ni Adiong, at iginiit na regular na nagsasagawa ng pagpupulong ang Lakas-CMD tuwing break.

Ani Adiong, ang chairperson ng House committee on suffrage and electoral reforms, pawang kathang-isip lamang ang pahayag ni Barzaga na ang kamakailang pagpupulong ng Lakas-CMD sa Manila Golf and Country Club ay tungkol sa umano’y backroom deals na kinasasangkutan ni Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, ng Department of Justice (DOJ) at ng Malacañang.

Mariin ding pinabulaanan ni Adiong ang post ni Barzaga na ang nasabing pagpupulong ay may kaugnayan sa pagiging state witness umano ni Romualdez sa DOJ, sa pagprotekta kay House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos at sa pagsuporta kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., kapalit ng proteksyon para kina dating Senador Bong Revilla; Reps. Jayjay Suarez, Roman Romulo at Adiong; at ang pagdawit umano kay Senador Francis Escudero ni First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos sa pamamagitan ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).

Binigyang-diin ni Adiong na si Romulo ay hindi miyembro ng Lakas-CMD at wala rin sa nasabing pagpupulong.

Dagdag pa niya, dumalo lamang si House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos ng Ilocos Norte upang magpasalamat sa mga miyembro ng partido sa kanilang suporta sa pagpasa ng panukalang pambansang badyet para sa 2026.

“I think it’s easy to make all these bold statements but our priority really as a member of House of Representatives, your primordial concern really is to represent your district, number 2 is to pass legislation, to introduce bills which you think will be helpful to advance the welfare of the people and not busy yourself spreading lies about your colleagues,” diin ni Adiong.

“Your primordial concern is to pass legislation, to protect your district and advance your district, not to… go around spreading lies without even providing any shred of evidence na itong mga ganitong accusations ay… accusations mo, allegations mo ay tama,” giit pa niya.

Sinabi rin ni Adiong na ang mga miyembro ng Lakas-CMD “are seriously contemplating filing an ethics complaint kasi medyo ‘yong accusations na gano’n, allegations na gano’n, it already abused his privilege being a member of the House.”

“Spreading these lies about the members, tarnishing the reputations of those members, especially those members who are not even present during the meeting… Lakas members are seriously contemplating filing an [ethics] complaint,” dagdag pa ni Adiong.

“This has to stop. I mean this spreading of lies and bold accusations against members of the House of Representatives without even providing any shred of evidence has really to stop. This kind of behavior, this childish behavior has really to stop,” giit ni Adiong.

Payo niya kay Barzaga: “Focus more on his district, he should focus on filing, introducing legislation that would help not only his district but the country, because that is his primordial concern.”

Ayon kay Adiong, ang mga pahayag ni Barzaga “should not be tolerated, because we’ve been tolerating him for quite some time.”
