Digital driver’s license ilulungsad ng LTO

BILANG bahagi ng kanilang digitalization program, ilulungsad ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) sa tulong ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) ang electronic version ng driver’s license.

Ayon kay LTO Chief Jay Art Tugade ang digital license ay magsisilbing electronic alternative ng aktwal na driver’s license card at isasama sa “super app” na ginagawa ng DICT.

“The advantage of the digital license is that motorists can present it to law enforcement officers during apprehension. It is equivalent to presenting the physical driver’s license,” paliwanag ni Tugade.

“We also appreciate the way the super app functions similarly to a wallet, containing all government IDs, among other things, within your mobile device,” dagdag pa Tugade.

Sinabi ni Tugade na ang digital license ay gagamitin ding kapalit ng Official Receipt (OR) bilang pansamantalang lisensya habang wala pang plastic card kung saan iniimprenta ang lisensya.

Makatutulong din umano ang digitalization ng LTO upang mabawasan ang korupsyon sa ahensya, ani Tugade.

“Simplifying and digitalizing more services will ultimately aid the agency in eradicating corruption,” sabi pa ng hepe ng LTO.

Pumasok sa isang e-governance partnership ang LTO at DICT noong Marso.
