PINANGALNAN na ni Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla ang 17 na suspek at persons of interest (PoIs) sa likod ng hazing na ikinamatay ng 19-anyos na 1st year maritime student sa Philippine Nautical and Technological Colleges sa Dasmariñas City.

Tatlong pang POIs ang tinatanong ng Cavite police sa ilalim ni Colonel Ariel Red, ayon sa report.

Lahat ng mga ipinakilala miyembro ng Tau Gamma Phi, ayon sa report.

Ayon kay Sec. Remulla, isang hazing neophyte ang nagbigay ng lead sa Cavite police kaya nakilala ang mga suspek.

Haharapin ng mga suspek ang kasong paglabag sa RA 11053 (Anti-Hazing Act) kung mapapatunayan na may kinalaman sila sa pagkamatay ni Mark Kenneth Alcedo.

Hinikayat ng mga lider ng Tau Gamma fraternity ang 17 na sumuko na para mabigyang linaw ang pagkakadawit nila sa pagkamatay ng biktima.

“We strongly condemn the event that happened last March 1. We also would like to offer our sympathy and condolences to the family who is right now experiencing difficult times,” sabi ni Tau Gamma spokesperson Martin Asturias.

Hinikayat niya ang mga suspek na sumuko sa pinakamalapit na police station.

“But, first of all, it is the accountability of the suspects and persons of interests that is important. If you want to clear your brotherhood’s name, surrender now before we get you,” sabi ng DILG secretary.

Ang suspek na nasa police custody ang sinasabing driver ng silver Mitsubishi Mirage na ginamit sa pagdala saa biktima sa ospital.

Sumuko ang driver kay General Trias City Mayor Jon-jon Ferrer.

Inamin ng suspek na kasama siya sa nagpahirap sa biktima at siya ring nagdala sa biktima sa General Trias Medical Center bandang alas-2:00 ng hapon noong Linggo, ayon kay Cavite police director P/Col. Ariel Red.

Ayon kay Col. Red, maaring nangyari sa Langkaan 1, Dasmariñas City ang hazing sa biktima.

“Lumalabas na isa siya sa may direct participation sa hazing incident. We have gone to the respective houses of the identified personalities as well as their possible hiding places and 9 out of the 21 are believed to be direct participants in the hazing case,” sabi ng police official.

“We expect the Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity to cooperate with us fully and to find and apprehend and turn over their members. Tutuluyan po namin lahat ito. You better surrender before we chase you,” sabi ni Remulla. Ni ALFRED DALIZON at DENNIS ABRINA
