NAKATAKDANG itaas ang demanda mula serious physical injuries sa homicide dahil namatay na ang rider na nasalpok ng driver na umano’y anak ng vice mayor ng Marikina matapos ang mahigit isang linggo sa coma.

Ayon sa Marikina police, nangyari ang aksidente noong Hunyo 13 dakong alas-3:52 ng madaling araw sa intersection ng Gen. Ordoñez at Russet Streets.

Nakilala ang biktima na 27-anyos na guro sa Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina, na nagmamaneho ng Yamaha Mio nang masapol ng Honda CR-V na minamaneho ng 24-anyos na indibidwal na ayon sa social media ay anak ng bise alklade ng Marikina.

Isinugod sa Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center ang biktima at doon na-coma at tuluyang namatay matapos ang mahigit isang linggo.

Base sa resulta ng examination ng mga personnel ng Land Transportation Office, positive ang driver sa blood alcohol concentration.

Nakulong sa Marikina City Police Station custodial facility ang driver pero pinalaya matapos magbayad ng piyansa.

“In light of this development, the Marikina City Police Station shall submit the appropriate supplemental and amended reports to the City Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of the filing of the corresponding charge of Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide and Damage to Property,” ayon sa statement ng Marikina police.

Hindi naman dineny o kinumirma ng Marikina police kung anak nga ng vice mayor ng Marikina ang driver.

“With respect to reports circulating on social media regarding the alleged relationship of…to a public official of the City, this Office has not received any official confirmation regarding such matter. No member of the concerned family, nor any representative acting on their behalf, has raised, invoked, or represented any such relationship at any stage of the investigation,” ayon sa statement.
