ANG kabuuang deposito sa mga banko sa bansa ay umakyat sa P22.2 trillion, ayon kay Roberto Tan, president at CEO ng Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp.

Sinabi niya na ang total deposit ng mga depositors sa bansa ay umakyat sa 8.0 percent kaya umabot sa P22.2 trillion as of end-June 2026.

Sa Bataan, sinabi ni Tan na ang total deposit at tumaas ng 10.7 percent, mula P70 billion noong June 2025 sa P77.5 billion noong June 2026.

Ang bilang ng mga deposit accounts ay tumaas sa 6.8 percent o 40,545 accounts na nagpapakita na umasenso ang mga taga-Bataan.

“They (PDIC) held the conference in Bataan because of the big deposits in the banks, compared to others,” ani Rick Quiambao, chief ng Philippine Information Agency.

Sinabi pa ng PDIC na ang Philippine banking system ay nanatiling malakas at halos 99 percent ng mga deposit accounts sa system ay fully protected ng deposit insurance.

“The latest run of PDIC 101 formed part of the continuing collaboration between the PDIC and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) to educate the public and foster partnerships with local media,” anang PDIC.

Sinabi ni Tan ang important role ng media sa pagtulong para maunawaan ng publiko ang deposit insurance at responsible banking.
