PINANGUNAHAN ni Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III ang pormal na turnover ng isang ganap na kagamitan at operasyonal na Senate Mobile Clinic sa Senate Grounds noong Miyerkules, bilang bahagi ng layuning mailapit ang serbisyong pangkalusugan sa mga komunidad na kapos sa akses sa mga ospital o health center.

“This project embodies our commitment to public service that goes beyond the walls of the Senate, beyond legislature. The Senate Mobile Clinic brings healthcare closer to the people,” ani Sotto.

Dagdag pa niya, “This is not just about bringing equipment closer to the people, it’s about bringing hope, compassion, and the assurance that public service is alive and mobile.”

Ang Mobile Clinic ay nasa ilalim ng pangangasiwa ng Senate Public Assistance Office (SPAO) at nilagyan ng X-ray machine, pasilidad para sa blood testing, at iba’t ibang kagamitan sa laboratoryo upang maisagawa ang medical screening, diagnostic services, at maging emergency response kahit sa mga lugar na malayo sa mga ospital.

Ayon kay SPAO Director General Lino S. Ong, “The Mobile Clinic will allow us to reach more Filipinos who may not have the means to seek medical help. This is part of our continuous efforts in making basic social and health services closer to the Filipino people.”

Dumalo rin sa seremonya sina DOH Undersecretary Dr. Gregorio Murillo, Undersecretary Dr. Emmie Chiong, at Dr. Lester M. Tan, Director IV ng DOH – Metro Health Research and Development Center.

Kabilang din sa mga dumalo si Special Envoy at Senate Spouses Foundation, Inc. Executive Director Kath Pimentel, na kinilalang ang kanyang asawa, si dating Senador Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, ang nag-ayos ng pondo para sa proyekto noong siya ay Minority Leader ng Senado, sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa Department of Health.

Naroon din sina Senate Secretary Renato N. Bantug Jr. at Senate Medical Bureau Chief Dr. Renato DG Sison, na tutulong sa pagpapatakbo ng klinika.

Bukod sa Mobile Clinic, inanunsyo rin ni Ong ang paglulunsad ng isang online platform na tinawag na “Senate Assist,” na layong gawing mas mabilis at mas abot-kamay ang pag-aapply ng tulong mula sa Senado, lalo na sa aspeto ng medikal at social services. Aniya, “Through Senate Assist, Filipinos, anywhere in the world, can request help with just a few clicks.”

Ang deployment ng Senate Mobile Clinic ay isasagawa sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa iba’t ibang ahensya at katuwang na institusyon gaya ng Senate Spouses Foundation, Inc., upang masiguro ang epektibong pag-abot sa mga nangangailangang lugar.
