SPEAKER ROMUALDEZ AT ES BERSAMIN – Nagkamayan sina Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez at Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin sa pagtatapos ng kanilang maikling pulong nang mag-courtesy call si Bersamin sa Office of the Speaker sa Kamara de Representantes umaga ng Lunes. Kasama nila ang ilang matataas na lider ng Kamara, na pinangunahan ni Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos.

Speaker Romualdez: Kamara, Executive kapit-bisig para sa credible, transparent na budget
SUPORTADO ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ang panawagan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa pagkakaroon ng kapanatagan sa gitna ng tensyon sa deliberasyon ng panukalang budget, at nangakong makikipagtulungan ang Kamara sa Executive branch upang maihatid ang isang transparent, accountable at tunay na para sa taumbayan na 2026 spending plan.
“On behalf of the House of Representatives, I thank President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for his understanding and his call for calm. We also acknowledge the dedicated work of the Cabinet in preparing the National Expenditure Program,” ani Speaker Romualdez.
Sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez na determinado ang Kongreso na gampanan ang oversight function nito kasabay ng pakikipagtulungan sa Executive branch.
“If our deliberations have caused any discomfort, we ask for understanding. The House’s duty is not to cast blame but to ensure that every peso in the budget is transparent, accountable and truly for the people,” saad pa ni Speaker Romualdez.
Aminado rin si Speaker Romualdez na dapat magsimula ang mga reporma mismo sa Kongreso.
“We recognize that there are issues that must be addressed, and we begin by putting our own House in order. Walang exempted―kasama kami diyan,” dagdag pa nito.
Idinagdag niya na nananatiling committed ang Kamara sa pakikipag-partner kay Pangulong Marcos at sa kanyang Gabinete upang palakasin ang proseso ng budget at protektahan ang pondo ng bayan.
“At the same time, we stand firm in our partnership with the Executive, under the leadership of the President, to strengthen the budget process and to make sure that government resources are used wisely and well,” saad pa ni Speaker Romualdez.
Binigyang-diin din ng Speaker na ang kasalukuyang mga talakayan ukol sa 2026 national budget ay hindi dapat ituring na banggaan ng mga institusyon kundi isang pagpapakita ng may pananagutang aksyon.
“This is not a clash of institutions. It is a partnership in accountability and service. The House stands united with the President and his Cabinet to restore trust, ensure transparency, and deliver a budget that is credible, acceptable, and beneficial to every Filipino,” dagdag pa ni Speaker Romualdez.
