BUMUWELTA si Senior Deputy Speaker David “Jay-jay” Suarez ng Quezon nitong Huwebes sa panawagan ni Senadora Imee Marcos na palitan si Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez bilang lider ng Kamara.

Para kay Suarez, ito ay isang hayag na panghihimasok sa usapin ng isang kapantay na sangay ng gobyerno.

“Let me be clear: no senator, regardless of stature or history, has the right to dictate who should lead the House. That decision rests solely with the elected members of this chamber, and Speaker Romualdez continues to enjoy our overwhelming confidence,” diin Suarez.

Giit pa ni Suarez, kumilos si Speaker Romualdez ayon sa itinakda ng Konstitusyon nang pamunuan nito ang pagsusumite ng Articles of Impeachment laban sa Pangalawang Pangulo. Aniya, “it is unfortunate that he is being vilified for upholding a process that the Constitution entrusts to the House.”

“What we are seeing here is not a call for accountability. It’s a classic deflection from the real issues raised in the impeachment case. The Senate’s decision to archive the complaint does not erase the people’s demand for answers,” dagdag pa ng kinatawan mula sa Quezon.
